A friend & colleague (same person – not 1 friend and 1 colleague.  Really, 1 “freague”) tagged me in a note on Facebook.  I hate the chain-letter aspect of those things, but enjoy doing them.  So, I thought I’d post it here for all to see.  It’s just one of those basic “put your iTunes on shuffle…” things.  I think you’ll get out of this as much or as little as you get out of a horoscope – about as insightful too.

I just ran across an article on Wired.com about the “Georgia Guidestones” – a huge granite monument meant to instruct the survivors of a major worldwide catastrophe on how to rebuild civilization.

It’s probably nothing, but it is a very good, interesting, and mysterious read:  http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/magazine/17-05/ff_guidestones?currentPage=1

A hopscotch game set up.  One of the squares read “Random Dancing”.  Another read “Gallop across”.  Something tells me the kids had fun playing that game.

It has stay power.  I can come back to it the next day, or 2 or 3 days later, and it’s still good.

Pesto Shrimp pizza does not share this amazing property.

That is all.  NOW LAUGH!!!

Well it’s been almost a month since I’ve posted anything.  To be honest, it’s partly KB’s (you know who you are) fault.  I knew she was going to be in Europe so I figured – what’s the point?  Plus, I wanted to finish work on the main point for this entry.

I just finished my first “mix” – an amalgamation of trance songs I think are pretty sweet.  This is more than just a “mix tape” – they’re all blended together seamlessly to give you 2 hours of atmospheric, almost ethereal trance music.  None of the annoying beat driven crap.  This has melody & everything!  Even if you’re not a fan, I’d recommend downloading it to see what you’re missing.

It’s just an MP3, because GarageBand is a real pisser.  I got about 1/2 way done making an enhanced podcast when I discovered GarageBand will only make podcasts up to 2000 beats – so all the links & chapters I’d done were for naught.  So, you’re stuck with an MP3 & a tracklist.

I should also mention that the mix was made with a demo version of MixMeister Studio, so a nice lady comes on every 10 – 15 minutes, for about 7 seconds, saying “This mix was made… blah blah blah”.  The software is $180USD and I’m not sure if that nice lady annoys me $180USD worth.

Note to important music executives: It is not my intent to make money or assist in piracy of these songs.  This is just for a hobby & hopefully to convince more people to pay you money for your artist’s music.  If you have a problem with that, just let me know & I’ll take this down.

Download (209 MB) (If you do – please leave a comment & let me know what you think).

In other news…

Some of you returning folks may notice I’ve changed the layout of the site slightly.  In addition to re-ordering some of the sections on the right, I’ve added a “Top Artists” section.  The fancy graphics & animations you see there are courtesy of the Last.fm quilt widget .  Granted, I messed with the code a little to make it bigger & fit in the template nicer, but they did most of the work.
